Your Body is Beautiful

Oct 1, 2021 | Local Resources

It’s going to be a hot one today so here is a good reminder for myself and anyone else that needs it:
Your body does amazing things, she is beautiful. A number on the scale does not reflect the person you are. No one is as concerned about you in a swimsuit as you are, because we are all too concerned about ourselves in swimsuits. Your body is beautiful.

I need to remember: other people’s judgement (including my own) is a reflection of insecurities. Think about that; why do we allow someone else’s opinion to affect us? If someone feels the need to comment on what someone else chooses to wear- why? WHY would that person care? Wear the swimming suite, wear the outfit, wear whatever you like! If you think you look good, why should anyone else make you feel less than (and why would we have those people in our life, hmmm..gosh, that’s a whole new subject). Other peoples judgements are just verbalized & projected insecurities of themselves and have nothing to do with you. Opinions are not realities.

My reminder: I am the healthiest I’ve ever been in my life; mind and body. I eat well, I’m active, I’m working daily on bettering myself and the future of my children. I’m raising kind, loving, inclusive humans. I am the heaviest I have ever been and why should that matter, especially when I am doing great work? I NEED these daily reminders and my weight doesn’t define me.

Todays takeaway: other people’s obsession with weight, working out, eating and numbers on a scale is their worry… not mine. Someone else’s body image struggle is not an attack on me. Try to keep the hater brain quiet; I worked hard to get here.

Where is here? Happy. With. My. Self.
